Why Solomon's Splendor?

Why did we name our farm/ business Solomon's Splendor? It comes from a passage in the Bible where Jesus is talking to his disciples. He was telling them not to worry. Not to worry about their everyday needs, for God knows what we need and it is His pleasure to take care of us. He explains that the birds can't reap or sow, yet God feeds them. Then he goes on to point out the beautiful wildflowers in the field. He says they do not labor or spin (make beautiful clothes from spinning to make threads), yet they are more beautifully dressed then King Solomon. King Solomon was one of the richest Kings in the ancient world. He wore the finest garments made from the most expensive materials and dyed with the most expensive dyes. Yet, he was not as adorned as the wildflowers that God had placed in the fields.

This passage has brought us great comfort through the years during tough times and times of need. We know that we have a Heavenly Father that loves us and cares for us. We look out at the field and marvel and the beauty of God's creation. And we know that if he looks after the birds and flowers, surely, He will look after us. He loves us, and friends, He loves you too! We hope to share the beauty of His creation with you through our endeavors here on the farm.
